Pete Thomas x Alex Stohl
There’s a common thread that exists in both Alex’s photography and Pete’s art – of translating moments that inspire into something timeless, frozen and iconic. Through what started as a simple idea over a few cortados, the two embarked on a journey, exploring images and aesthetics to see what they could combine to produce. Over a year later, and countless iterations to hone the work, we are excited to release the first of a series of art prints.
“Chamonix” captures the ‘wow’ moment, where the arête of the Aiguille du Midi first comes into view and the alpinist takes those initial steps forward. From the shadow of Mont Blanc, the tremendous exposure and scale of the terrain make this classic bucket list route simply awe-inspiring. Our goal is to invite the viewer into that space and into that feeling.
About Pete
Pete Thomas is an artist from Whitefish, Montana, whose bold style of illustration is clearly shaped by the majestic mountains that surround him. As a poster aficionado, his pieces synthesize vintage travel art with modern techniques to create a unique style he calls nouveau retro.
About Alex
Alex Strohl is a Madrid born, French photographer whose work is characterized by his extraordinary travels. Instead of creating contrived scenes, Strohl creates authentic moments and captures them as they unfold before him—continually blurring the lines between work and life.
